Festive closing concert with Anneleen Lenaerts

Anneleen Lenaerts is one of the most awarded harpists of her generation. The general public knows her, of course, as a soloist with the Vienna Philharmonic, one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world. Later this autumn, on 19 November to be precise, she will be releasing a brand new album with Warner Classics, Vienna Stories. In an exclusive preview you can already experience her with this programme during Gent Festival van Vlaanderen!

Anneleen selected a repertoire that fits her life as a musician in Vienna and her work with the Wiener Philharmoniker. The worlds of opera and symphony merge perfectly with everyday life in Vienna, and with this music, I hope to take the listener on a wonderful Viennese journey with my harp,' she says.

Plunge with her into Dvořák's heartwarming Song to the Moon and Smetana's sparkling Moldau, as well as Richard Strauss' Rosenkavalier Waltz and Johann Strauss' enchanting Danube Waltz. For these Waltzes, Anneleen also brings along the Viennese Selini Quartet and double bass player Damian Posse. A delightful end to a sparkling Festival!
