Vivaldi’s high-spirited Four Seasons
Dutch violinist Janine Jansen is an internationally renowned star. She has performed with almost all of the world’s major orchestras, from New York to Tokyo. In addition to the large romantic repertoire, she is also passionate about the Baroque, and recorded Bach’s sonatas with her father.
During Flanders Festival Ghent, she and her more than three-hundred-year-old Stradivarius venture into one of the highlights of the Baroque: Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.
ALongside these four virtuoso violin concertos, the top ensemble Amsterdam Sinfonietta will play the compelling romantic Serenade for strings by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The composer wrote the first part as a tribute to Mozart, and part two is one of the most lyrical waltzes in the romantic repertoire.
Relax and enjoy some of the most romantic classical music ever written!
