In Cafe Theatre you’ll find a wealth of culinary delights throughout the day. For more than 20 years, the restaurant has been a Ghent fixture, set in the Royal Opera building. During the day, you can also visit for something deliciously sweet or savoury at Bloch Bakery. In the evening, you can sample the most delicious cocktails and enjoy a fine example of internationally renowned mixology. Brand new is the cheese bar with cheeses from cheese-ripener Van Tricht. From starter to dessert, everything revolves around cheese. Enjoy a delicious cheese experience and unique food pairing!
Brasserie Pakhuis is a unique restaurant in a beautifully restored warehouse in the historic city centre. The imposing interior, in combination with the super-fresh brasserie cuisine with contemporary touches and traditional favourites, guarantees a successful lunch or dinner. Discover the fresh daily range of oysters and seafood or taste our outstanding home-grown products, such as the Bresse chicken AOP. Like so many of our high-quality ingredients, this comes straight onto your plate from our farm in France. During the Festival, you can reserve for our “Festival Menu” from 6 pm onwards.
'Korenlei Twee' is in a prime location, offering a fantastic view of the Korenlei, the Graslei and the Sint-Michielsbrug. On the outside terrace to the rear, where the Leys meets the Lieve, you can enjoy unparalleled vistas of the Vismijn and the Vleeshuis. This historic house with its incomparable location is unique in Ghent. In this authentic environment, you can savour an atmospheric meal in the restaurant or relax in the cosy ‘lounge café’.
Restaurant Nenuphar, located on the bank of the River Lys in the idyllic village of Afsnee, is an established name in gastronomic Ghent, and a mere ten minutes’ drive from Ghent city centre. The restaurant is characterised by its warm but unfussy interior and spacious terrace with a view of the river. The menu offers a wide choice of classic and up-to-the-minute dishes. Its jetty means you can easily reach it in the course of a boat trip from Ghent, Sint-Martens-Latem or Deurle.
The Patyntje is housed in an charming villa in the colonial style and its terrace—with its view of the River Lys—is thoroughly recommended. This brasserie is well known for its authentic Flemish cooking: delicious vol-au-vent, Flemish stew and sole are served in a splendid setting. If you want to combine your visit with a boat trip on the river, you can easily make a stop thanks to the jetty.
