On 24 September, we dived into the musical world of French writer Marcel Proust on and around the Kouter in Ghent. At Le Salon de Proust, Queen Elisabeth Competition laureate Stéphanie Huang and Jean-Claude Vanden Eynde kicked off with César Franck's cello sonata. During 'In search of lost time', we delved into Proust's dream world with a meditative performance by Jan Michiels and Lise Bruyneel. Our festival dramaturge then let us into the author's personal world, with a reading that brought the dreamer and thinker closer to us. And what was the music of the fictional 'La Sonate de Vinteuil' from Proust's work inspired by? To that, Bart Vandenbogaerde and Margarita Höhenrieder gave a more than successful conclusive answer!
