A packed house listened with bated breath to the striking performance of Olivier Messiaen's Quatuor pour la fin du temps by Annelien Van Wauwe and her ensemble Carousel. Time seemed to stand still, and it took a moment before the silence after the final note broke into warm, heartfelt applause. Both audience and musicians needed a moment to recover.
