Ghent Festival goes off with a bang in 2018

17 days and more than 25 venues in the heart of Ghent and beyond. This is your rendezvous with famous names, young guns, powerful voices, breathtaking dancers and much, much more. In 2018, the Ghent Festival promises a highly individual, creative and festive programme that you really must hear, see and feel. 

On Saturday 15 September, Odegand, which was declared the most fantastic Gentenaar in 2017, will kick off the festivities for everyone. Until Saturday 6 October you will be able to enjoy unforgettable operas, innovative choirs and orchestras, living conducting legends, music in the open air and a closing concert that our senses are already yearning for. We’ll make sure it’s a glorious Indian Summer.

Plan a weekend in Ghent during OdeGand 

OdeGand: a magical city festival, on and alongside the water

On Saturday 15 September, OdeGand will take over the whole of the centre of Ghent for an extraordinary festival of music on—and alongside—the water. During this unique musical event you’ll sail from one concert to the next and spend the entire day discovering numerous musical genres, from traditional world music to first-rate classics. 

More than 180 internationally-renowned artists and ensembles will be gathering in Ghent’s idyllic city centre to perform countless concerts in unique settings. This backdrop of fairytale canals and cosy corners makes the OdeGand experience a delight for the eyes and ears alike!

A single ticket is valid for the boats and all the concerts throughout the day. In the evening this is followed by a breathtaking spectacle with music, light and fireworks on Graslei and Korenlei.
