If façades could talk, they'd have plenty to tell after last weekend. With The Uprising of the Façades, Ghent literally came to life in two long processions. Beneath the Stadshal, the Symphonic Mob© swelled into one impressive orchestra. Meanwhile, thousands of people followed En Route, from Almaghoot Quintet to Valentina Tóth, from baroque to Gnawa, from Ukrainian voices and electronica to queer polyphony and Dvořák. Ghent kept switching frequency.

In the evening, all the lines came together at Wintercircus. HIIIT, Percussions de Strasbourg and the robotic percussion of Zeno van den Broek had humans and machines chasing the same rhythm.
