Een soldier. A violin. The devil with an offer that sounds too good to be true.

Last Friday, in a sold-out MIRY: Stravinsky's L'Histoire du soldat, with Isabelle Faust & Friends and the Salzburger Marionettentheater. Georg Baselitz designed the puppets and set, raw and grotesque, perfectly at home in Stravinsky's small war machine.

Music born out of necessity, for a handful of players and a story that could travel anywhere. More than a century on, it still cuts like a knife: what would you give away for the promise of a better future?

Please Disturb. Never trust the devil with your violin.
