Yaràkä
This trio hails from the city of Taranto, in the heel of the Italian boot. Its three members sing and play numerous instruments. Their music is an ode to the multi-ethnic culture of southern Italy. Their repertoire explores the ritual side of traditional folk music, in which the relationship between man and nature plays a central role. With their original arrangements, sometimes hushed, sometimes imploring or rousing, they always paint a vivid picture.

This fabulous polyphony finds its origin and strength in life on the beautiful island, but it does not shirk from influences blowing in from the sea. These six singers, with their unique sound that goes straight through the heart, bring a sampling of their best work of the past forty years.
