Looking Within
Brussels Jazz Orchestra & Philippe Thuriot
Description
With Looking Within, Brussels Jazz Orchestra offers a counterbalance to today's busy, hectic and digital society: together with accordionist Philippe Thuriot, the orchestra has created a brand-new programme that invites the audience to experience a unique contemplative performance.
New compositions as quiet as a whisper but not less powerful were penned by jazz trumpeter Bert Joris, with whom the orchestra has collaborated very successfully on several occasions.
Looking Within is a meditative experience for both the performers and audience, which also challenges the traditional concept of orchestral arrangement.
