Description
What do faith, religion and making sense of the world mean in today's diverse society? For this brand new production, I SOLISTI and the Flemish Radio Choir join forces with writer Maud Vanhauwaert and composer Frederik Neyrinck.
In collaboration with LARF!, the artistic house for children and young people from Ghent, the makers had conversations with fourteen-year-olds from different cultural backgrounds for a year. They asked about their ideals: what do they believe in, and how do they see the world of tomorrow? What do they want to stand up for, what do they want to live for?
Points of view and fragments of these conversations are part of the new text that Maud Vanhauwaert wrote. On the music stands is new work by Frederik Neyrinck, alongside the Mass in E minor by the deeply religious Anton Bruckner, who was born 200 years ago. Bruckner wrote the mass, his first great masterpiece, for the special line-up of an eight-part mixed choir and fifteen wind instruments.
